Little people of the earth : ceramic figures from ancient America
-
The Denver Art Museum has built an extraordinary collection of pre-Columbian art, and among their collection are the ceramic figures representing people. The ceramic technology was reinvented in a number of cultures the world over, among them in the New World (the continent of America) producing astonishing pieces. Pieces that overwhelmed Albrecht Dürer, just to give the reader an idea.
This book is dedicated to the Mesoamerican (Mexico and Central America) and to some of the South American pieces of ceramic, here and speciafically to peoples' representations: the so called figurines.
