Technics and time, 3 : cinematic time and the question of malaise
-
In volume three, Stiegler turns his attention to the problematic relationship to technics. Stiegler relates this problem to the "cinematic nature" of time, which preceds cinema itself but reaches an apotheosis in its exteriorization process of schema, through tertiary retentions of their mechanisms. He focuses on the relationship between these themes and the "culture industry" as defined by Adorno and Horkmeier.
