BeschrijvingThis work is from a series of text-based drawings from the installation Pushing Up Daisies. The works are diaristic textual excerpts written over the course of two years in residence at the Rijksakademie, specifically written in moments of tension or revelation. For example, one work reads “A revoked apology”, which was written after the right-wing party PVV’s manifesto promise to withdraw apologies made by the Dutch government and king for the country’s involvement in the history of slavery; another work reads “American yoga” after the artist spend a month in the United States following American yoga classes for research for a performance of the same name, within the same body of work.
