Paradys : vijftien kunstenaars over macht en maakbaarheid

Man has always strived for paradise. Mostly it remains an idea, a desire for a perfect world. Yet the Frisian Nassaus came surprisingly close with their Oranjewoud. This country estate is still an oasis of green, deer and timelessness.
But can such a paradise be maintained today? How malleable is the world? For the exhibition 'Paradys', artistic director Hans den Hartog Jager asked fifteen contemporary artists to reflect on both the paradisiacal environment of this former pleasure garden and its rich history full of power inequality.
The artistic results and the underlying processes are bundled in this book. In stimulating essays and in-depth contributions you will discover how the fifteen special works of art came into being.
