Tomas Schmit. : werke, texte, dokumente / works, texts, documents 1962-1970

With the exhibition Tomas Schmit. Pieces, Actions, Documents 1962–1970, the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (nbk) gave an insight into the early work of the artist, author and illustrator Tomas Schmit. The focus was for the first time on his previously unpublished performance pieces from the 1960s, which particularly underline the conceptual rigor and discursive quality of his works.This publication contains extensive unpublished material that is brought together for the first time. It creates a dense picture that adds important insights to the reception of Fluxus beyond Tomas Schmit. The aim of this publication is to encourage a rediscovery of Fluxus and to highlight aspects and impulses that are still virulent today.
