Charles Vos beeldhouwer, 1888-1954

The Maastricht sculptor Charles Vos worked throughout Limburg, but especially in Maastricht. More than a hundred statues of him can be found in public spaces. Vos was a modest, humorous man, with a wide oeuvre. He was not only an artist, teacher and professor, he modeled, sculpted, designed, drew and wrote. Religious and profane work, busts, small portraits, grave monuments, memorials, tableware designs and a lot of 'small work'.
