Ties Poeth : de vloed, het land van de kikkers en de kracht van het water

In the picture book DE VLOED, Ties Poeth - living in Breda, but born in Tegelen (1957) - tells the story of the rise of the city of Breda in the late Middle Ages. This started with the discovery of a wafer in the village of Niervaert, which grew into a place of pilgrimage. When the village was about to be flooded by a new flood, a group of Breda notables had their eye on the host and transferred it to Breda, which flourished as a result, while Niervaert disappeared into the waves.
