Aspects of the technical interpretation are generally confused with aspects of the grammatical interpretation. This is the reason for most of the metaphors that serve as a form of epexegesis, like coma arborum (the tree's head of hair) or tela solis (arrows of the sun), in which the words used in their "figurative sense" preserve their proper and exact meaning, producing their effect only through a combination of ideas counted on by the writer.
