Essays on art, 1915-1933

The present edition of the written work of Kazimir Severinovich Malevich includes all major texts printed during his lifetime in Russia. It is only a small, although influential part of his writings, a large amount of which is unpublished. The edition is based upon a selection. now considerably enlarged, of Malevich's literary work published in Danish in 1963. Malevich only emerged as a writer when he had reached absolute maturity as an artist. He was 37 years old when he published his first pamphlet "From Cubism and Futurism to Suprematism".
